Frederick "Fred" Hughes was a Welsh professional rugby league footballer of the 1940s, playing at representative level for Great Britain (non-Tests), Wales, and at club level for Barrow, and Workington Town, as a Prop, i.e. number 8 or 10.[1]

International honours

Fred Hughes won 3 caps for Wales in 1945–1946 while at Barrow and Workington Town.[2]

Genealogical information

Fred Hughes was the father of the association (soccer) footballer for England, Liverpool, and others, Emlyn Hughes.[3]
