Publication history

Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition (1989-1999)

Hajama was introduced in the Al-Qadim: Land of Fate set (1992).[1]

Description

Hajama is the Zakharan god of bravery. He is one of the eight Great Gods of the Land of Fate and encourages never to shy away from any opposition, be it in battle or other circumstances. His followers believe that it is better to try and fail than not to try at all, as even living through a defeat strengthens the spirit. Hajama's symbol is a featureless disc or none at all.[1]:Adventurer's Guide to Zakhara, 47-48

In tales the god is described as a stocky man with a long, deeply black beard, who wears either a jellaba or lamellar armor with the colour of midnight.[1]:Adventurer's Guide to Zakhara, 47 Like other Zakharan gods he is above such concerns as alignment, as: "Bravery can be found in the most noble faris and the most black-hearted assassin, and who is Hajama to turn his ear from either of them?"[1]:Adventurer's Guide to Zakhara, 45

Hajama's faith is especially strong in regions bordering dangerous areas like deserts and mountains. It is on friendly terms with the faith of Najm. In the Cities of the Pantheon, Brave Hajama is said to be the son of Kor and Najm's twin.[1]:Adventurer's Guide to Zakhara, 47
