The 2020 presidential campaign of John Hickenlooper, the former Governor of Colorado, began on March 4, 2019.[2][3] Hickenlooper's candidacy had been a matter of media speculation for months prior to his announcement.[4][5]

Announcement
Hickenlooper formally launched his campaign on March 7, 2019, in Denver, Colorado.[6] A video entitled "Stand Tall" was released to announce the campaign and outline his reasons for running.[7]
Fundraising
Hickenlooper formed Giddy Up PAC in 2018 in anticipation of a presidential campaign, raising more than $600,000 in the midterm cycle.[8]
