The Journal of Interdisciplinary Economics (JIE) is an academic journal that had been published by A B Academic Publishers, Oxon, England. In July 2011, Sage announced its acquisition of the journal alongside several other titles that had been published by A B.[1] Its subject areas are economics, econometrics, law, and finance.[2] The editor-in-chief is Jayati Sarkar, Associate Professor at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research in Mumbai, India.
The journal intends to expand the boundaries of economic science by "seeking out the hidden assumptions that determine the conventional economist’s world view, relax them and so evolve a new discipline more appropriate to the contemporary global environment within which the discipline exists, and so enable economists to tackle problems that have been created within that environment."[3]
JIE is ranked 1* in the ABS Academic Journal Guides 2010 and 2015.[4] The journal is furthermore included in the German Handelblatt VWL ranking 2013[5] as well as in the French AERES list 2012.[6]
