The tanker collided with Abadesa in the Westerschelde, Netherlands. Both tankers caught fire. One crew and five reported missing from Miraflores. The tanker George Livanos ( Panama) ran aground when taking avoiding action.[9] |

The cargo ship sank in the Aegean Sea with the loss of all but one of her 22 crew.[10] |
