Paul Westwood

Paul Westwood (born 1953) is an English bass player.

Career

At 16 years old, he played in Westwood nation Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) and started in 1971 at the Guildhall School of Music, a double bass -Studies.

By 1976, he had already given concerts in 23 countries and also worked for well-known musicians such as David Bowie, Elton John, Vangelis, Cliff Richard, John Miles, Stephen Bishop, Andy Williams, José Carreras, Chocolate, Madonna, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Janet Jackson, Tom Jones, Nick Heyward and Nik Kershaw. His success made him one of the most sought after session musicians of the London music scene. Also at various film and musical productions he worked with.

Meanwhile, informed Paul Westwood at the Royal Academy of Music at King's College and the Stowe School. In 1992 he produced an educational video entitled The Complete Bass Guitar Player.

As most successful publication of his work applies Bass Bible, a book for bassists with all the theoretical foundations and further topics.
