Rashami Desai (also Rashmi) is an Indian television actress. She is best known for playing the role of Tapasya Raghuvendra Pratap Rathore in the popular television soap opera, Uttaran on Colors. She has acted in many B grade movies before shifting to television. She has also acted in Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Manipuri and Bhojpuri movies. She has also bagged many accolades mostly for Uttaran. She was a contestant on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 in 2012. She is currently playing the role of Preeti (Icchadhari Naagin / Daayan) in Adhuri Kahaani Hamari.

Career
Desai who started her career at an early age, got her first break in Ravan on Zee TV followed by Meet Mila De Rabba on Sony TV and started acting in the show Uttaran on Colors on 20 June 2009. Later, in March 2012 she opted out of the show Uttaran as she didn't believe she could portray an older role after the leap.[1] On 7 November 2012, she has returned to Uttaran in positive shades.[2]
She has worked in other serials including Pari Hoon Main. She has also done episodes for Ssshhhh...Phir Koi Hai. She has featured in reality shows such as Comedy Circus, Maha Sangram, Zara Nachke Dikha, Crime Patrol, Big Money, Kitchen Champion Season 2, "Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala" and Jhalak Dikhhla ja.
Personal life
Desai is married to her co-star from Uttaran, Nandish Sandhu, since 12 February 2012. They tied the knot in Dholpur.[3] In 2013, Rashami became pregnant but suffered from a miscarriage. Due to the miscarriage, problems started taking place in their lives. In 2014, Rashami and Nandish started staying separately due to some differences. However, resolving all differences, they came back together and apparently patched up. Rashami and her husband filed for divorce [4] after four years of marriage.
She is a very active person and likes to take part in dance and reality TV shows and also participated on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5[5] which also aired on Colors TV. On the show she spoke about her miscarriage and other contestant felt that it was all done for sympathy.[6][7]
She also appeared on Shekhar Suman hosted Movers and Shakers show.[8]
