Solanki is a clan name commonly associated with the Rajputs in India but which has also been borrowed by non-Rajput communities such as the Saharias as a means of advancement by the process of sanskritisation.[1][2] Other groups that use the name include the Bhils of Rajasthan,[3] while the Gurjars have a similarly-named clan that has a myth of origin akin to that of the Rajputs.[4]
