Plot

Zhang Xiaofan (張小凡) was born in Caomiao Village (草庙村; Grass Temple Village). One day, eleven-year-old Zhang Xiaofan helped out Tianyinsi's (天音寺; Tianyin Faction, a Buddhist school) monk named Pu Zhi, which caused everyone in his village to get killed later that night, leaving only his childhood friend Lin Jingyu (林驚羽) and a villager Uncle Wang. They were later adopted by the Qingyunmen (青雲門; Qingyun Faction, a Taoist school), the leader of the righteous and good.

Archlord Gui Wang (鬼王), head of Guiwangzong (鬼王宗; the Demonic Cult), wants to destroy the Qingyunmen and Tianyinsi to control the world. In order to maintain justice, Zhang Xiaofan trained and fought with Archlord Gui Wang. When he was defeated, Bi Yao (碧瑤), Archlord Gui Wang's daughter and Zhang Xiaofan's lover, died for him under the sword Zhu Xian. Zhang took his lover's body and began to rove all over the world.
