The 2015–16 Northern Football League season is the 118th in the history of the Northern Football League, a football competition in England. Teams are divided into two divisions.

Division One

Division One consisted of 22 clubs.^[1]

The following 3 clubs left Division One before the season:

Billingham Synthonia - relegated to Division Two
Celtic Nation - disbanded
Crook Town - relegated to Division Two

The following 3 clubs joined Division One before the season:

Norton & Stockton Ancients - promoted from Division Two
Seaham Red Star - promoted from Division Two
Washington - promoted from Division Two

Only Bishop Auckland applied for promotion to Step 4.^[2] They would have needed to finish in the top three to achieve this.^[3]
