This is a list of earthquakes in 1914. Only magnitude 6.0 or greater earthquakes appear on the list. Lower magnitude events are included if they have caused death, injury or damage. Events which occurred in remote areas will be excluded from the list as they wouldn't have generated significant media interest. All dates are listed according to UTC time.

January–March
A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck Kagoshima Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan on January 12 at a depth of 5.0 km.[1] At the time of the earthquake a volcanic eruption of the Sakurajima volcano was ongoing. The earthquake itself caused around 29 deaths and caused the destruction of 120 homes.[2]
A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck off the east coast of Kamchatka, Russia on January 20 at a depth of 60.0 km.[3]
A magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck off the coast of Bio-Bio Region, Chile on January 30 at a depth of 15.0 km.[4]
A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck Balochistan, Pakistan on February 6 at a depth of 100.0 km.[5]
A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck off the east coast of Honshu, Japan on February 7 at a depth of 35.0 km.[6]
A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck Oruro Department, Bolivia on February 26 at a depth of 130.0 km.[7]
A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Akita Prefecture, Honshu, Japan on March 14 at a depth of 5.0 km.[8] Ninety-four people died and 640 homes were destroyed.[9]
A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck Yunnan Province, China on March 28 at a depth of 100.0 km.[10]
A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck Chiapas, Mexico on March 30 at a depth of 150.0 km.[11]
April–June
A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck south of the Solomon Islands on April 11 at a depth of 50.0 km.[12]
A magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck near the town of Giarre, Province of Catania, Italy on May 8 at an unknown depth. One-hundred and twenty deaths were reported as well as the destruction of 223 homes. This was an unusually high death toll for such a small magnitude event.[13]
A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Cuanza Sul Province, Angola on May 24 at a depth of 35.0 km.[14]
A magnitude 8.1 earthquake struck off the northern coast of Papua (province), Indonesia on May 26 at a depth of 15.0 km.[15] At least 101 people were killed and many homes were destroyed. A tsunami was generated in the area.[16]
A magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck eastern Panama on May 28 at a depth of 70.0 km.[17]
A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the Santa Cruz Islands, Solomon Islands on June 20 at a depth of 50.0 km.[18]
A magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck off the southwest coast of Sumatra, Indonesia on June 25 at a depth of 35.0 km.[19] Twenty people were killed and another 20 were injured. A few homes were destroyed in the area.[20]

A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck to the northwest of the Ryukyu Islands, Japan on July 4 at a depth of 200.0 km.[21]
A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck the Banda Sea, Indonesia on July 4 at a depth of 200.0 km.[22]
A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck off the east coast of Taiwan on July 6 at a depth of 60.0 km.[23]
A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck to the north of Jamaica on August 3 at a depth of 35.0 km.[24]
A magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck northern Xinjiang Province, China on August 4 at a depth of 15.0 km.[25] One death was reported and some homes were destroyed.[26]
A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck the Flores Sea, Indonesia on August 6 at a depth of 600.0 km.[27]
A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck the Kuril Islands, Russia on September 11 at a depth of 35.0 km.[28]

A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck east of Marie-Galante, Guadeloupe on October 3 at a depth of 100.0 km.[29]
A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Burdur Province, Turkey on October 3 at a depth of 15.0 km.[30] At least 4,000 people died, 700 were injured and more than 17,000 homes were destroyed.[31]
A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck Gisborne Region, New Zealand on October 6 at an unknown depth. One death was reported and some damage was caused.[32]
A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck Himachal Pradesh, India on October 9 at a depth of 20.0 km.[33]
A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck the Andaman Islands, India on October 11 at a depth of 80.0 km.[34]

A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck north of Halmahera, Indonesia on October 23 at a depth of 35.0 km.[36]

A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Waikato Region, North Island, New Zealand on November 22 at a depth of 100.0 km.[38]
A magnitude 7.9 earthquake struck the Volcano Islands, Japan on November 24 at a depth of 110.0 km.[39]
A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck Lefkada, Greece on November 27 at a depth of 30.0 km. Fourteen people were killed. Many homes were damaged or destroyed on the island.[40]
